Regenerating a storyboard frame
Regeneration runs the generation of a frame or scene again, with the same or a changed description, and replaces the result. From 8 source pages, read 2026-09-25; no maker pays to be listed.
It is the default edit on many tools, and the bluntest: the whole frame changes, the good parts included.
Whether a regeneration costs anything is a pricing question the catalogue does not record.
1The term in vendor wording
| Board tool | What the vendor page says | Field |
|---|---|---|
| Boords | Part of a frame is marked and regenerated while the rest stays as approved | Panel edits |
| Frameo | A character, an angle or a line of audio in one shot changes without regenerating the scene around it | Panel edits |
| Katalist | Framing and shot types are adjusted shot by shot | Camera |
| LTX Studio | Retake redirects a specific moment inside a shot without regenerating the scene | Panel edits |
| Pippit | Characters, dialogue and shot details are adjusted, and any scene can be regenerated | Panel edits |
| Story.com | Descriptions are edited and specific frames regenerated | Panel edits |
| Storyboarder.ai | A 3D camera tool orbits, pans and reframes a single storyboard image without regenerating it | Camera |
| StoryboardHero | Images are regenerated, or the vendor's sketch artists draw the frame instead | Panel edits |
Inclusion rule. Board tools whose copied lines use the term or its usual equivalent; one line each. Order. Alphabetical by tool name.
Mark the part of a frame you want to change and AI regenerates just that area.

Between the script and the video in “Regeneration”, SceneMixer hands back the following, in its own words:
Measured across every job that finished successfully on scenemixer.com in the thirty days to 20 September 2026: analysis of a whole book runs about 2 minutes 49 seconds at the median, one episode's storyboard 1 minute 54 seconds, one video segment 3 minutes 20 seconds, and compositing an episode 3 minutes 52 seconds.
