Reference images on a storyboard
A reference image is a picture given to the tool so a character, place or style comes out the same each time it is drawn. From 8 source pages, read 2026-09-25 to 2026-10-25; no maker pays to be listed.
Some tools attach one per character, some accept any image as a style or content guide, and some turn references into named assets.
A reference passes on whatever is in it: a picture with strong lighting hands that lighting to every panel drawn from it.
