Storyboarder.ai with Toonkit: two boards compared
Storyboarder.ai and Toonkit read differently on four of the six fields: board output, camera, cast and panel edits. They read alike on the move to video and board export. From 2 source pages, read 2026-09-25; no maker pays to be listed.
| Field | Storyboarder.ai | Toonkit |
|---|---|---|
| What the storyboard comes back as | Panels plus lists | Image panels |
| How the camera angle is set | 3D camera | Written into the shot |
| How the cast stays the same | Held by the tool | Assets called by name |
| How one panel is changed | Redraw the panel | Part of a panel |
| How the board turns into video | Generated clips | Generated clips |
| Whether the board leaves as a file | Files | Files |
Inclusion rule. The six fields every board tool on the register is read on. Order. The order the fields take on every tool sheet.
1What sets the two apart
Both describe a board export and both go on to video, but they handle the camera and edits in opposite ways. Storyboarder.ai moves a 3D camera around a finished frame and regenerates whole images without per-image credits; Toonkit asks for the angle in the scene text and changes one region of a panel. Storyboarder.ai also pairs its panels with a shot list and screenplay.
