Between the script and the video: what AI storyboard tools hand back

What a storyboard comes back as in four tools

The four searches behind this column name makers outside the catalogue, and each is read on its own pages for the six fields the catalogue reads on every tool: board output, camera, cast, single-panel edits, the move to video, and board export. As of 2026-10-13.

Four makers, the same six fieldsOne maker's board is described twice on its own site; one sells plans whose nouns are models and characters; one sells references and clip length; and one names the mechanism that holds a face. The catalogue puts the same six fields to every tool it carries, so what a page answers is what can be compared.LTX StudioA plan page with tiersand a feature page withElements and RetakeTwo readingsOne board, described twiceOpenArtModels, characters andcredits, with a castcounted per planCapacityNo board among thenounsViduMulti-referenceconsistency and threeto sixteen second clipsReferencesWhat a first shotis fedHiggsfieldSoul ID, trained fromtwenty or morereference photosAn identityA face thatsurvives the cutThe six fields this catalogue reads on every toolWhat the makers' pages said about boards
Fig. 1 The makers differ in what they publish; the fields asked of them do not.

Four pages, one method behind them. One reads LTX Studio step by step, because its plan page and its feature pages describe the same board twice; one reads OpenArt on what a plan itemises; one reads Vidu on what a board hands a render for a first shot; and one returns to Higgsfield on holding a cast across a board. Each page finishes on the same question: how much of the six fields did the maker's own pages cover?

Three habits carry through. The maker's own wording is quoted for the point at issue, stamped with the day it was read. Where the catalogue holds a reading of the same tool or the same field, it is placed beside the claim rather than merged with it, because a register line and a page line are different sorts of statement. And every table carries one line for SceneMixer, the storyboard this catalogue reads on its own pages, quoted from the sentence it was filed from.

Nothing on these pages ranks the four makers, and none of them was run. What is compared is what the pages state, field by field, so that a planner can see which questions a page answers before anything is bought or rendered.

1The four pages here

  • Higgsfield — what Higgsfield's pages state about an identity that persists, and the catalogue's readings of how six other tools hold a cast.
  • LTX Studio — what LTX Studio's plan page and its feature pages each state, read step by step against the catalogue's reading of the same maker.
  • OpenArt — what a plan on OpenArt's page itemises, and the catalogue's six forms a board can come back in.
  • Vidu — what Vidu's pages state about references and clip length, and the catalogue's readings of the hand between a board and a render.

The maker pages quoted here were read on 2026-10-13; the catalogue's own readings were filed on 2026-09-25. How a tool is read is set out on the method sheet, and every tool the catalogue carries is on the register.
