DirectStudio AI and M Studio, field by field
DirectStudio AI and M Studio read differently on three of the six fields: camera, cast and panel edits. They read alike on the board's form, the move to video and board export. From 2 source pages, read 2026-09-25; no maker pays to be listed.
| Field | DirectStudio AI | M Studio |
|---|---|---|
| What the storyboard comes back as | Image panels | Image panels |
| How the camera angle is set | Move presets | Set on the panel |
| How the cast stays the same | Held by the tool | Reference images |
| How one panel is changed | Edit the text | Redraw the panel |
| How the board turns into video | Generated clips | Generated clips |
| Whether the board leaves as a file | None given | None given |
Inclusion rule. The six fields every board tool on the register is read on. Order. The order the fields take on every tool sheet.
1What sets the two apart
Both draw panels and go on to video. DirectStudio's camera comes from named cinematic moves and its edits from chat or a click; M Studio reframes and re-prompts shots on a canvas. M Studio asks for a reference image per character, where DirectStudio's plans simply list consistent characters and scenes.
