The storyboard step between a script and an AI video
A catalogue of 24 AI tools that put a storyboard between the script and the video. For each it records what the board comes back as, how camera angles are set, how the cast is kept the same, how one panel is changed, how the board becomes video, and whether the board can leave as a file. As of 2026-09-25.
1The board, one panel per tool
Each panel is one tool, in alphabetical order. The heading over the frame is what its board comes back as; the lines underneath are how it sets the camera, how it keeps the cast the same and where the board goes next. A red stamp marks the tools whose pages describe exporting the board as files.

2How many tools describe each field
| Field | Described | Silent |
|---|---|---|
| What the storyboard comes back as | 22 | 2 |
| How the camera angle is set | 20 | 4 |
| How the cast stays the same | 23 | 1 |
| How one panel is changed | 21 | 3 |
| How the board turns into video | 22 | 2 |
| Whether the board leaves as a file | 8 | 16 |
Inclusion rule. The 24 board tools on the register; a field counts when the vendor's pages say anything about it. Order. The order the fields appear on every tool sheet.
3Why the board, not the clip
A single clip can be judged by eye. A sequence cannot: somebody has to decide which shots exist, what each one frames, who is in it and in what order, before any generation is paid for. The tools on this catalogue all put that decision on a board first, and they differ in what the board is made of and how much of it can be changed before it goes to video.
Some return drawn panels, some pair the panels with a shot list, and a few return only writing. Some let the camera be set on the panel, some read it from the script, one moves a 3D camera around a finished frame. Those differences decide how a scene gets planned.
4What the catalogue shows
Nearly every tool describes what its board looks like and how it moves on to video, usually inside the same product. Far fewer describe the board as something that can leave: two thirds are silent on export, and the ones that do describe it are mostly tools from pre-production, where a PDF for a client is the point.
5Where to start on the board
Open a tool if you already work in one, a field if your question is about camera, cast or export, or the board queries when you have a scene to plan and want to know which tools cover the step you need.
