Best script to storyboard AI
HeyGen and SceneMixer describe all four and share first place: a written shot plan from the script, a cast held by references or names, panels that can be rewritten and a camera set in words. Six more describe three. Pages were read; boards were not judged. As of 2026-09-25. The rule below was written before the places were computed, and no maker pays to be listed.
1A script goes in, a board comes out
Turning a script into a storyboard is a translation job. The tool has to read the scenes and write them out as a plan of shots, keep the characters recognisable through reference images or a named cast, let a panel be rewritten or drawn again when it reads the scene wrongly, and say where the camera stands, in the text of each shot, frame by frame or from a preset. Each of those four things a tool's pages describe is a point.
- Turns the script into a written shot plan
- Holds the cast with reference images or a named cast
- Rewrites or regenerates a panel
- Sets the camera in the text, per frame or by preset

Inclusion rule. Makers among the 24 in the register whose pages state at least one of the points listed above; the one with none are left out. Order. Descending by points; ties share a rank and break alphabetically.

4Words first, pictures second
This table favours a board that is written before it is drawn, because a written shot plan is what a video model reads; a tool that sketches panels without a shot list scores lower here even when its drawings are good. The shot list to video table follows the board on into clips.
One of the 24 tools in the catalogue cover none of the four steps and are not listed.
