Between the script and the video: what AI storyboard tools hand back

Board pair: DirectStudio AI and Katalist

DirectStudio AI and Katalist read differently on three of the six fields: camera, panel edits and board export. They read alike on the board's form, the cast and the move to video. From 2 source pages, read 2026-09-25; no maker pays to be listed.

1What sets the two apart

Both draw panels, both say the tool keeps the cast consistent, and both go on to video. DirectStudio uses named cinematic camera moves and edits by click or chat; Katalist adjusts framing and shot type per shot and regenerates. Only Katalist says anything about export, and that is about formats for social channels.
